Cacoxenite in Amethyst Rose sterling silver pendant 9/25/2018 01 - 100% hand made by me. This unique pendant is possibly the most ambitious jewelry project I've finished. It's a combination of most of the techniques I know and took considerable time, focus and sweat to achieve. The stone is a rare Amethyst from Brazil containing 7 or more beautiful inclusions including the chatoyant golden needles seen in this treasure. The gem was cut first and the design was based around it however, I dropped and broke the original stone and the replacement I cut was not satisfactory so I cut a third stone to complete the final piece. The rose, leaves and bail are fine silver, the rest is sterling all with an antiqued patina. The pendant is about 2&1/16th inches or 52 mm from top to bottom. It is hallmarked ".925" sterling silver along with my maker's mark.
