Hell's Canyon "herringbone" fossil wood gem 12/12/2019 01 - 48 x 27 x 5.8 mm - 37 carats - Here is a pretty cabochon of one of the most rare and distinctive petrified woods in the world and my favorite wood to cut. I've heard all of this material came from one huge log that is now covered by a reservoir. This cabochon has great patterns as well as a few closed (completely filled in) "pecky pocket holes". This drop flame designer gem has a beautifully rounded dome, girdled sides and a flat beveled back all with near perfect liquid high gloss luster.
