Chatoyant Malachite Designer Gem 8/16/2019 01 - 46 x 17 x 5.7 mm - 52 carats - This spectacular, rich green Malachite is highly chatoyant, which means it formed in hard crystallized sections that create a reflecting, shifting, animated play of light similar to tiger eye. Chatoyance in Malachite is rare and this is the most spectacular material I've ever seen. The whole stone is beautifully chatoyant, but also has a crystallized "blade" or "wave" pattern that is very unusual and flashy. This rich green stone has a beautifully rounded high dome, generously girdled sides and flat beveled back all with high gloss luster. The colors and luster are even better in person.
