Pyrite Dinosaur Bone fossil designer gem 2/21/2018 01 - 54 x
25 x 5.4 mm - 82 carats - Here is one of the most rare and
expensive materials in the world of lapidary and fossils.
This jaw dropping paisley flame shaped designer gem is cut
from a slice of a large dinosaur bone that was replaced
mostly with pyrite and a little agate. I've always wanted to
cut this super beautiful stuff but never had a chance until
I got some about a year ago. It took me this long to decide
how to cut the first cabochon but now, here it is. I only
bought a small slab. There will be a few more but this will
be the largest and probably the best of them. This unique,
once in a lifetime, enviable treasure has a beautifully
rounded low dome, girdled sides and a flat beveled back all
with a beautiful golden super reflective and glossy metallic
luster. There are a few very minor flaws along the back
bevel that do not detract form the outstanding quality and
beauty of this amazing, highly desirable and highly
collectible piece. I can imagine the possibilities of the
